Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has officially launched the much-anticipated XUV 7XO SUV in the Indian market, marking a significant evolution of its popular XUV700 model. The new XUV 7XO enters the competitive mid-size SUV segment with introductory prices starting at ₹13.66 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol variant, positioning it as a value-packed yet premium offering for SUV buyers.
The XUV 7XO builds on the strong legacy of the XUV700 — one of Mahindra’s most successful SUVs — while introducing substantial design, technology, interior, and feature upgrades. The refreshed SUV sports a bold new exterior with a redesigned grille and sharper LED lighting elements, complemented by new alloy wheels and a modern rear profile that gives it a distinctive, contemporary look on Indian roads.
Inside, the SUV adopts a technology-rich cabin highlighted by a triple 12.3-inch screen setup — one for the digital instrument cluster, one for infotainment, and a dedicated screen for the front passenger — inspired by Mahindra’s electric SUV design language. The interior also includes dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos support, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, enhancing comfort and in-car entertainment.
On the powertrain front, the XUV 7XO continues with proven engine options carried over from its predecessor. Customers can choose between a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel unit, both offered with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions. The diesel variants further offer all-wheel-drive capability in higher trims, broadening the SUV’s appeal across varied driving conditions.
Safety and driver assistance have also been upgraded, with features such as Level 2 ADAS technologies, a 540-degree camera system, multiple airbags, and connected car functions via the AdrenoX system. The XUV 7XO also brings in-car AI enhancements including Alexa and ChatGPT integration on supported trims, marking a new direction in SUV infotainment intelligence.
Bookings for the XUV 7XO opened on January 14, 2026, with deliveries for the higher variants already underway from mid-January and other trims expected through April 2026. With its blend of tech, performance, and pricing, the XUV 7XO is poised to take on rivals such as the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari in India’s burgeoning SUV market.
