KTM India has introduced an enhanced version of its popular 160 Duke streetfighter, now equipped with a large 5-inch colour TFT instrument display — a feature previously seen on larger Duces in the lineup. This update brings a more sophisticated and connected riding experience to one of the brand’s most accessible performance motorcycles.
The newly launched variant of the KTM 160 Duke is priced at around ₹1.78 lakh–₹1.79 lakh (ex-showroom), which is approximately ₹8,000 higher than the standard model that comes with a traditional LCD console. While the mechanical specifications remain untouched — including its 164.2 cc liquid-cooled engine and agile streetfighter chassis — the addition of the TFT screen elevates the bike’s appeal among tech-savvy riders.
The 5-inch colour TFT display, borrowed from KTM’s larger Gen-3 models like the 390 Duke, comes with bonded glass for improved durability and enhanced visibility in varied lighting conditions. This premium screen supports smartphone connectivity via KTM’s My Ride suite, which introduces features such as turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call alerts, music control, and the ability to view ride data on the go. Navigation and connectivity are accessed using four-way menu switches on the left handlebar, keeping interactions intuitive while riding.
KTM’s move to include a TFT instrument cluster on the 160 Duke reflects a broader trend in the entry-level and mid-capacity motorcycle segments toward more connected and tech-rich riding experiences. Riders in this category increasingly expect premium features that were once reserved for higher-end motorcycles, and the TFT upgrade helps KTM keep pace with competitors that have also begun offering advanced display systems.
Despite the tech upgrade, the bike’s core characteristics remain unchanged. The engine continues to deliver lively performance suitable for both city commutes and spirited street riding, and the chassis and suspension setup offer the trademark agility that Duke models are known for. KTM has kept the focus on enhancing the overall rider experience without altering the bike’s fundamental performance dynamics.
The new TFT-equipped 160 Duke will sit alongside the existing base model in KTM showrooms, giving buyers a choice based on how much tech and connectivity they want in their streetfighter. As premium features become more mainstream in the 150–200 cc segment, this update positions the 160 Duke more strongly against rivals that already offer advanced display units and smartphone integration.
